By Tube

Westminster station (District, Circle and Jubilee lines) is a 4-minute walk. Take exit 6 for Westminster Abbey and follow Broad Sanctuary. St James’s Park (District and Circle) is a slightly quieter alternative, 6 minutes away through the government quarter.

By National Rail

London Victoria is a 12-minute walk via Victoria Street. London Waterloo is a lovely 15-minute walk across Westminster Bridge — well worth doing at least one way for the view of Parliament.

By bus

Routes 11, 24, 88, 148, 211 and 453 all stop within a few minutes’ walk of the Abbey. The 11 and 24 pass directly outside on Victoria Street. The 148 is one of the classic sightseeing routes over Westminster Bridge.

By river

Uber Boat by Thames Clippers stops at Westminster Pier, a 5-minute walk from the Abbey and right beneath Big Ben. Arriving by boat from Greenwich, the London Eye or Tower Pier turns the journey into part of the day out.

Walking & cycling

It’s a scenic 10-minute walk from Trafalgar Square down Whitehall, past Downing Street and the Cenotaph. Santander Cycles docking stations sit at Storey’s Gate and Great College Street. There’s no visitor car parking at the Abbey itself; the nearest public car parks are Q-Park Westminster and the Abingdon Street car park.
